Float'n in the parade!

This is our float in Saturday's parade.
The  St. Ayles Skiff was our float in the parade.
Sitting on our float.
We are gluing the inwales in the boat.

We measured where the spacer blocks would go and clamped them in place.

Prime Time!

We taped off where the inwales will go, next step is to prime the inside of the boat.

Cutting out the oar on the bandsaw, all four oars are cut out so far.

Parade Preparation

They are putting the final coat on the boat.
We are installing the inwales in the boat.

We put the 2nd coat of blue on the stripe of the sheer plank. We are making sure it looks right for the parade.  The boat is debuting in the Perry 200 Grand Patriotic (Memorial Day) Parade. Check out the link to the parade.
We modified the trailer for the St. Ayles Skiff, this will be our float in the parade.

What A Nice Day to Make A Boat

Sanding in the sunlight.
We found all the holes in the hull of the boat and filled them with epoxy.

In the background of our workspace is the Erie Maritime Museum and the Niagara.

This is an image of the oar. We used a plane to shape the oar and round the loom.
